Home Ministry approves Silwal’s resignation

The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the resignation of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nawaraj Silwal.
“Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma approved the resignation last Friday,” a source at Home Ministry informed Setopati. 
The Police Headquarters on September 17 had submitted his resignation letter to Ministry of Home Affairs. Silwal had announced his resignation from Nepal Police after the Supreme Court (SC) quashed the writ petition filed against IGP appointment on September 12. 
Silwal joined the main opposition CPN-UML on October 6. According to sources, UML will field Silwal as its candidate in the upcoming elections.
