Yadav, his son held by Indian police released
Dev Narayan Yadav of Tithali of Saptari district who was detained by Border Security Force has been freed after seven days.
Indian police have released Yadav on the general date, according to the SP of Saptari Mukesh Singh. His son Ajaya Yadav was also released.
The Indian police in Supaul district had arrested Ajaya on the false charge of abduction. When his father, Dev Narayan went to the Indian police seeking his son's release later, he and one of his friends who had gone with him were also detained on the same charge.
Dev Narayan was the person who was at the forefront of the protests against the unilateral construction of a dam across a river along the Nepal-India border in Saptari which caused flooding on the Nepali side about three months back.
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had urged the Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma to take required initiatives for Yadav’s release.
Following the meeting with Dahal, Home Minister Sharma had issued the directives to initiate the release process of Yadav after talking with SP of Saptari district and CDO on phone.
