Death toll due to floods, landslides reaches 47

At least 47 persons have been killed, 15 are missing and eight injured due to floods and landslides across the country following heavy downpour in the past two days.
Four have been killed in landslides in Sindhuli, three in Surkhet and one in Panchthar, according to Chief of the National Emergency Operation Center under the Home Ministry Shankar Hari Acharya. Similarly, four have been killed in Jhapa, five in Morang, eight in Sunsari, two in Sarlahi, two in Bara, two in Dang, seven in Rautahat, four in Banke, one in Dhanusha, two in Bardia and one in Makwanpur due to floods.
Many districts in the plains have been inundated and roads obstructed at many places due to torrential rains, according to Under Secretary Acharya.
