Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has got a new chief executive officer (CEO) over two months after getting an elected people's representative.

The Cabinet has transferred KMC CEO Ishwor Raj Poudel to the Home Ministry while Dhaniram Sharma Poudel has been sent from the Finance Ministry as his replacement.

Ishwor Raj Poudel, who had been appointed KMC CEO six months ago, has not been given any responsibility despite being transferred to the Home Ministry. "I have also worked as chief of KMC (in absence of an elected representative). I have been transferred also to ensure it is easier for the elected mayor to work," he stated.
